I suppose it depends on what you are looking for. "Any good?" is qualitative. I bought this model from a local Walmart here in Canada for $230 Can., and I`m happy with it`s performance. (NTSC Region 1)

I don`t know what the other fellow in here means, but *my* unit has component RGB outputs anyhoo.

But Oh! HOW I HATE MACROVISION! It is a form of cancer. I sure wouldn`t mind being able to copy a dvd or two (from my own store-bought copies!) on VHS, but of course, I see the good ol` DVD Consortium has wreaked it`s usual havoc. The cancerous, Macrovision micro-chip virus has, of course, been incorporated into the Sanyo`s innards. I don`t know what flavour the chip is - just the basic AGC f###ups or worse, maybe level 1 or 2 colour stripe. I *DO* have a basic macro-buster ordered through the mail (just the basic AGC-restorer-type), and I hope that`ll work.

Hey, I`m fairly handy with a soldring iron. Anybody know of any websites that know how to neutralize and/or exorcise the demon macrovision circuitry? (I was thinking of using a hammer.....) (or a priest.....)

Many thanks in avance.
