Page 1 of sony dav 300 will it play cdr`s..??

thinking of buying a sony dav300......can anyone tell me if it will play cdr discs.........also, anyone got a region hack.........?

The only way to make anything SONY region free is to chip it (as far as I know)

Hi yes Id really like to find out if the Sony can play VCDs on CDrs too ! I have checked with 2 places online - one place says that it will whilst the other one says that it wont !

Can anyone who owns one of these units please confirm the situation with CDr support (I know that the player has to be chipped to be multi region).

just to let u know that the dav300 WILL play cdrewriteables ive been using them for months!!!!

ive had mine since march this year and every cdr ive tried will not play.
can you tell me what make of cdr you are using.

Sirius cdr`s also work (audio and vcd)

While on the subject (sort of), I have a question about setting up the DAV 300. Seeing as how it doesn`t come with Scart connections (why Sony?), what setup gives the best possible picture quality? A mate of mine has just invested in one and now is not sure how to set her up.
