HELP! Best High-Street Deal???
Please help! Any tips for a first-time DVD buyer. My mate has around £150 to spend on a DVD player this weekend and needs some advice. Any recommendations from deals currently available on the High Street? (eg, Dixons/Argos/etc).
Any decent-ish machines in this price range that can be region hacked?
Thanks for any help!
RE: HELP! Best High-Street Deal???
Dunno whether Tescos have any M5s left.
Alba at Argos - look back for some threads on that
Cyberhome 528 at WHSmith - apparently decent image quality, but a few glitches with MP3 playback - may well be fixed by new firmware.
Best deal is John Lewis.
Pick a machine that they have, print off an internet price, and they`ll match it and throw in a 2 year gurantee. Can`t say fairer than that.
Cheers

FYI, JL are stopping Internet price matching on the 21st, I believe.

Hey guys
I`ve been told that you can get the LG DVD-4710 for £149.99 in Dixons. This is a really solid machine (I`ve got one), and I`ve had zero problems with any of the discs I`ve bought.

Just seen a post in the bargain forum re a Dansai (?) dvd player £99 at Tesco Extra stores - Westy reported it to be pretty OK - and of course Tesco have excellent returns policies if you don`t like it.
