Panasonic TX28PK3C

Hi

I`m thinking about buying one of these TVs. I`ve looked at some web sites (pricerunner.com, unbeatable.co.uk, etc.) and the prices seem to vary quite a bit. Anybody know of the cheapest place I can get one?
Also, is it not produced any more? The reason I ask is that some places I`d expect to have it listed don`t.

Cheers.

Philip

Philip,

Firstly, I understand it replaced the PK1 but has since been replaced itself (by the PL range I think - but could be wrong)

What is the lowest price you have seen this at?

I saw one in Debenhams two weeks ago for £599 (inc 5yr guarantee) and was going to get one to replace the s***e Tosh 28ZD06B which I sent back but I really wanted a 32 incher.

Anyway, settled on a TX32PK2 for £800 from Coles (John Lewis) of Sheffield. They matched the lowest online price I could find and chucked in a 5yr guarantee. I wasn`t really looking for a Dolby set but it was a damn site cheaper than the PK3 and I am very happy with it indeed.
They will even guarantee the price I paid for 28 days - so I am still scouring the net to find it even cheaper - yes, I`m a tight git!

So, find a cheap one online and phone your nearest John Lewis branch for a price-match (I got sorted within 10mins of my first call.)
But remember - the price match finishes on 21/10/01.

Happy hunting.

£800 seems a very good price. Cheapest I`ve seen it for is £860 delivered. Did it include a stand and where did you see it?

Lewjosh,

The lowest price I found was at www.panasonictechnics.co.uk who are based in Devon and had it at £769 (1yr guarantee) and £849 (with 5yr guarantee) - plus £36.10 delivery.

I phoned up Cole Brothers (John Lewis) in Sheffield who were selling at £895. The guy checked the website and within 10mins price-matched the £769 price (and gave me a 5yr guarantee). He said they are only concerned that the tv is identical, boxed & new - the extra guarantee is thrown in by John Lewis on all tvs.

The only thing was that because I did not live in the delivery area for that store I would normally have to pay £20 delivery but because it is a price-match they would have to charge me what the competitor was charging; therefore they had to charge me £36.10 for delivery bringing the set in at £805.10 delivered.

Arrived four days later - excellent service, great tv.

If you live within in the delivery catchment area of a John Lewis store you may even get it delivered free making it even more of a bargain.

Good luck - and remember, price matching finishes in two days.

Makro in Sheffield has these at £429.99 plus VAT (£505.23) which Cole Brothers price matched. I also got the 5-year warranty thrown in so I`m chuffed. Got to wait a couple of weeks for delivery. If you want one of these I`d get CB to price match before Makro stop doing theirs. As Makro aren`t an internet company you`ll be able to do this after 21/10/01.

Good luck.
