Budget multi-region player help...

FuzzyBoy (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 10th October 2001, 21:52

My wife`s sister is after a budget multi-region DVD player for her son (from Santa you know!)

She doesn`t want to pay more than £200 and it needs to be RCE compatible. Not fussed if it doesn`t have DTS decoder.

Any recommendations folks...?

Cheers,

Personal preference: Grundig (latest model is the GDV220), handset hackable, RCE compatible, plays most disks faultlessly. If you want anything like 5.1 or DTS, better to get an external amplifier than a more expensive player.

Aint it typical the JMB 3000 cant have macro removed ;(

Dont know why thay changed the hack for the 3002? Maybe thay had to due to legal reasons?

Anyway, Glad you like the JMB 3000, Its not a bad machine for the price.
