Page 1 of Cyberhome 512 + 528 whats the difference??????

I am thinking about buying a Cyberhome DVD Player But i cant dicide what modle to buy. Whats the differance????

I`ve had mine for about 3 months - bought from Richer with 3 year guarantee (refundable if not used). Don`t buy their £20 CD for multiregion upgrade - you can download the firmware and burn it onto a CDR yourself for free (if you have a CDR of course). The site wth the firmware is http://www.cyberhome-help.de/fadm2512_english.php4 - you want firmware A009.8. They also have a forum for owners of this player.

If you don`t have a CDR you are welcome to my CD - I`ve finished with it!

Excellent player for the money in my opinion. Get the 9.8 firmware update off the help site and it`s region free and macrovision free too.

Re difference between 528 and 512, have a look on the site I mentioned earlier, there are reviews of both models. The english translation is usually slightly ropey, but perfectly understandable.

I thought you could not disable macrovision on the 528?

528 got a 4-star review in September`s Home Entertainment that dropped onto my hallway carpet this morning - they like it very much - Recommended badge

Yes, it l;ooks like no Macrovision off - see http://www.cyberhome-help.de/tadl528_english.php4 for their review. Depends if you`re worried by that, or the MP3 playing problems they reported.
