I have a hacked wharfedale 750 a la Tescos and cannot get it to play dual layer dvd`s from region 1,is it a common problem or just me?

I`ve not had any problems, eg region 1 T2 ultimate plays fine, I`ve got one of the relatively early ones.

No problem with the Wharfedale, what disc?
