Page 1 of Contridicting reviews of the Yamaha510 ?

Hi.

I am about to buy my first dvd player this w/e. (about time!)

I am currently considering the yamaha s510 however i have read 2 totally contridicting reviews!!.

Whathifi says its superb and i believe it may have got product of the year (review here) :

Whatvideotv on the other had says it isn`t very good at all and actually gave it 6/10 for picture!!! review here:

These reviews have totally thrown me, does anyone have one of these players?, If this was your choice would you go for the toshiba210e which also has component output and appears to have received good reviews all round?.

Anyone any thoughts on this?.

ps. can anyone also recommend online retailers who provide multiregion dvd players apart from techtronics and RS ?

Can`t comment on the Yam, but ref retailers, I recently got my multi region 210E from leconcepts.co.uk and am mightily impressed

Get a demo of one and make your own mind up.
Also most hi-fi shops will either let you borrow one to demo at home or let you swap it if you don`t like it (Richers do the latter).
