VS10, Toshiba SD210e and cables for £480

Looking to enter the fun and games by linking up the above to my Thomson 32 w/s tv

leconcepts.com are offering the above two bits of kit with gold scart and optical cable for £480 all in.

Much read about the VS10 making it a good purchase, but not much on the Tosh.

The price, all in looks good.

Can any of you worldly wise out there advise if this is a reasonable buy?

Any compatibilty issues I might face?

Also, where do I get speaker stands for the rear?

Cheers

Put simply this is a bit of a bargain.
The Yammy is so impressive given its meagre size, and the Tosh dvd player has one of the most fabuous picture performances ever.Top notch sound as well.
If its not already modified, you`ll have to get the Tosh chipped for it to play all regions, but that shouldn`t be your priority first off-you can always have it modified later. [link]www.linkonline.co.uk[/link] is a good place to look at when the time comes to go multi region.
As rear speaker positioning? About 6feet up the side walls at the rear of the room will do the trick nicely.DO NOT be tempted to mount them directly behind you, this will bring rather nasty directionality to the proceedings.Have them firing across the back of the room to create a more spacious sound image in the surrounds.Surround ex/dts es systems are the only systems where speakers should be placed directly behind-in this case for surround ex centre rear duties.A good set of sturdy shelves will see your rears right, thy`re not big enough to be put on stands!
Enjoy your purchase, any trouble post here or find me at the home cinema forum at [link]www.area450.co.uk[/link].

Amen
