Help with recording via standalone DVD Recorder
Guys
Pretty new at this so any info is much appreciated. I'm looking to buy a DVD Recorder to replace my VCR machine. I'm looking to back-up my current DVDs (especially kids Disney films which often double up as frisbees). I have a normal Cyberhome CH505 dvd player with latest firmware that has macrovision switched off.
Firstly, will this allow me to easily back up commercial dvds?
Secondly, how reliable are dvds copied from dvd recorders with playing in other standard dvd players?
Thirdly, can anyone recommend a decent DVD recorder for me to do the above!?
Really appreciate your help on this.

Should have no problem since the macro has been disabled.

Again you should have no problem provided the other player can actually play DVDR/RW

Only recorder I have used has been the Lite-On 5005B. Backed up a couple of my most cherished DVD box sets and each and every one plays perfectly.
Fraid` that is all I can offer at the mo` but HTH anywhooo :)

Great info mate!
I`m thinking of getting the Lite-On 5006B.
I`m guessing this should work just fine.....
Cheers

The 5006B has a stereo tuner which will allow recording of terrestrial broadcasts with stereo soundtrack, I think anyway. Also I believe it has Videoplus so that should help with recordings.
If you do get the 5006B then have a wee swatch at http://www.videohelp.com and search for the 5006B. You might be able to find a link to a dowload site of a utility that edits the F/ware and enables three hour recording .
