Hi can anyone tell what speed disks this machine will work with ie 4x 8x 16x speed .my panasonic dmr85 will only work up to 4x speed.And it seems harder to find 4 speed disks as time gos on. many thanks :o

Are you sure that your dmr85 will only go to 4X ? Maybe you just need to try different disks - my E55 will use datawrite 8x disks, but not datasafe8X .

It`s specs says it will record on 8X discs same as DMREH50

I`ve recorded on 8X discs on my DMR-E50, this is a 2003 model you can record 8X discs on the 2004 DMR-E85

HI all thats funny when I phoned panasonic they told me not to go above 4x speed disc in the e85 as it would damage the player. many thanks >:(
