Toshiba 3107 help please

mitchcom (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 3rd October 2000, 16:09

I have a chance of a cheap Tosh 3107 USA model 110v etc. How good/bad is this machine? I know it is limited in bells and whistles but will it do as a first project machine as I would like to upgrade it to Multi-region myself with a DIY kit.

Will is play VCD? etc.

Can`t do you a link (I`m on ONnet!) but try http://dvdreview.net - a magazine called DVD buyer (Issue 2) reviews the 3107B - surely the same wee beastie.

Yes it does play VCD according to the review and originally retailed at £550 so sounds like you might wanna snap one up.

Having said that the reviewer only gave it 7/10

I had a Toshiba 3107 from America which I got modified with a Techtronics mod. I found the player was pretty good but it had errors on a number of discs - The Matrix; Martha meet Frank, Daniel & Laurence and others. Every Columbia disc also has a menu glitch which leads to flickering.

It`s a good player but as a first generation unit my advice is to steer clear.

Alex.
