Page 1 of earasing discs

i got a philips dvd recorder 610 which i have had now for about 8 months or so but about 2 weeks ago i recorded a program but when i went to erase it it did but now the dics is is no good i can`t record on it no more then last night it happened again as anyone had this happen to them? :(

Only thing I can suggest (if the disc is a DVDRW) is that you try and format the disc in your PC. This will take a wee while if you do a full format rather than a quick format but it may allow you to re-use the disc .

Unless he filled up a DVD+R and kept erasing the titles and it`s now full up.

yeah i will try that by the way it is a dvd+rw not a r how do i format it on the pc?

You will need Nero 5/6 , Roxio EZCD/DVD or any other CD/DVD writing software. Formatting is easily done by inserting the disc and then choosing the Full Format option in the software you have.
If you do not have any writing software have a wee swatch at http://www.videohelp.com and you may be able to download a utility from the Tools section that will allow you to format the disc.
You can try downloading a trial / demo version of Nero , search under Google for the home page, and you may be able to format using the demo/trial version.
