Samsung are a bit naff........!

...or are they?

I`ve heard they have all sorts of problems playing a number of discs (eg Matrix, Patriot) is this actually the case?

Are they a good budget player - or is the LG3200, Philips 701 and Tosh better?

I`ve had no probs whatsoever. I`ve got a selection of R1, 2 & 4 discs and they all work fine (including the matrix)

My mate exchanged a real pain in the a*** LG for a Samsung and he couldn`t be happier. The ` sound compression ` feature is especially well thought-out as it avoids the typical DVD problem of quiet speech and loud effects. Makes the sound more on a level that you`d be used to from videos and TV. Neither of us found this feature compromises enjoyment of discs in any way either.Much easier to set up, and plays discs like Toy Story 2 that his LG threw a wobbler on.
