Page 1 of CyberHome CH-DVR 750 or Yamada 8400X?

Hi everyone, I`m still thinking about getting a DVD recorder but I can`t figure out which one to buy. I`ve heard good things about the Cyberhome and Yamada recorders but I`m at a loss as to which one to get. I would like one that records in Nicam and is easy to use. Please help me choose! Thanks.

Cyberhome and Yamada recorders both record in Nicam.

As I understand it the Yamada can be flashed to MR capability by a CD update rather than a remote control hack, Cyberhome stuff tends to be MR but I am not directly aware of the hack or if its MR out of the box.

I`ve got a Cyberhome DVD player which I`ve had for 2 years and had no problems with it, so this is pushing me towards that make. I just hope I don`t buy a "duff" one! One other question, does the Cyberhome record in RGB or Pal? Thanks.

I am not sure if the CH has RGB inputs\outputs or not, the signal will be recorded in PAL some will record a NTSC signal (but not convert to PAL).

There are some overheating issues reported with the Cyberhome, but as long as you don`t park something on top of it like a Sky box, you should be all right, and at £99.96 the machine`s a steal.

No, we`ve all enjoyed it immensely.

I went into Asda to pick up the Cyberhome DVD recorder today and they have none in stock! They`re out of the 4KUS one as well. Bugger! What should I do now?
P.S. If the Cyberhome doesn`t record in RGB, will the Yamada?
