Hi
I have the yamada 8000 and had it around a year now and no major problems the access to the disk or setup is a bit slow but works fine hopefully the newer ones are a bit faster.Mine does not like the verbatim dvd +rw and locks up but no problems with other disks yet.Not in the same class as a pany but good picture and upto now the disks play fine on my portable player.
bye

The DVD+RW discs have played on all my other machines.
Although I tend to record onto DVD+RW then copy onto DVD-R with my computer to archive.
