I am trying to transfer my 8mm video tapes on to dvd via my DVD recorder. I have achieved this but i can not play the DVD on any other DVD player or on my PC, i can only watch it on the DVD player that i recorded it on . I have a MICO recorder which recordes in DVD+ and a samsung video camera. I recorded it in HQ mode. via the av lead. When i use the DVD recorder to record films ect i can use them on any other DVD player. Thought it would be the same princible. Can anyone help me or tell me where im going wrong. Keep it simple as i am very new to all this.

Have you finalised the disc after burning/recording from the video camera.
If possible when you are not really sure try phannying about with DVD/RW. Slightly dearer but at least you can format them and use over and over until you get the hang of recording from the camera.
