I went into Argos yesterday to buy a Lite on 5005 but 5004 is a substistute they sell in place of it. I stuck it in place of my vcr, connected it as per instructions, Switched On. Nothing. Keeps going - loading - no disk. Will not bring Set Up Menue on tv screen. Remote does not match picture on instructions. Liteon web site does not have it listed as one of there DVD Recorders (only a manual) There is no Firmware listed. Has anyone any knowledge of this Recorder 7 if there is any Firmware. Any advice, Opinions etc Please

These recorders have to be connected to your TV by scart as the RF coax connection to the TV is only a pass through. Ensure you then select the AV on you TV to view.
If you have tried this then try another scart or try the 3 phono type leads from the 5004 to the TV and select the appropriate AV.

I returned my 5005 to Argos today sas the jerky picture scenario was driving me mad. Had it replaced with a 5004 which no one has heard of . 3 hour mode added and videoplus BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no rgb for superior picture and no progressive scan .Worst of all no firmware upgrdes as Liteon dont recognise it as a model no!!! .Inputed my seriel no for upgrade on the liteon site and they said it was invalid .Going back tomorrow for a refundf hopefully .Very naughty of Argos to advertise a 5005 and supply you with an inferior machine

The Firmware for the Lite-on 5004 has suddenly appeared on the Liteon web site. Argos do not now mention when selling the 5005 that it might be substituted for a 5004 (On line). Strange. :p :D 8)

I bought a 5004 from Argos and the clock does not update i.e when you set the time it stays the same when you check it 30mins later for example.
Any ideas?

Not to worry I took it back to Argos and they replaced it with a clock that works!
