Page 1 of Philips Recorder won`t play DVDs

Hi there

I have a Philips DVDR880, however it has stopped playing DVDs.

It will still quiet happly play audio CDs though, I know this seems to happen quite alot with the philips. Or is it a case that something else has broken inside?

Does anyone know if a software update will solve this problem? I only have dial up and see that it is a large file, so don`t want to download it if it is a waist of time.

You probably need to get it serviced. The software update won`t cure anything that`s gone wrong in the hardware. Sorry.
