Can anyone please help, I have a network card in my pc and a Linksys router model WRT54G and want to connect my xbox to it any ideas would be helpful. I have a rj45 crossover lead from the xbox, But don`t know what to do with the ip numbers.

Ditch the crossover lead for a straight through cable( that is a plain old cat5 Ethernet cable). The router will deal with the IP addressing via DHCP - the default settings will issue an address to the box when the xbox is connected & powered up.
