Wharfedale 750S playing MP3 discs

paulbradbeer (Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 1st May 2001, 00:44

Have 750S which i`ve written MP3`s on to an ISO 9660 disc which registers fine in system and allows to skip through tracks. Audio out is to speakers, not thru tv (but can do also - as not using dreaded SCART) but unfortunately sound keeps breaking up.

I`ve tried MP3`s VBR`s, CBR`d, normalized and not normalized and no difference if player is set to PCM or BITSTREAM either or have I missed something? MP3 disc plays ok on PC.

Cheers

Brad

MP3s play fine on my machine but every once in a while there is one that wont play. If I try the track in Musicmatch Jukebox on the PC it plays fine but try it in Microsoft Media Player and although it plays I can hear problems with it. A lot depends on how the track was ripped in the first place. I have downloaded some real stinkers

Unfortunately i`m ripping these myself, quality is great on PC - but breaks up on Wharfedale - as you using SCART?

Best Wishes

Brad

What brand discs are you using? Some of the cheap ones can perform badly in anything but a cd-rom.
