The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California, less than 100 were made. My father spent 3 years restoring this car.....it is his love.....it is his passion....."it is his fault he didn`t lock the garage!"

Bargepole touch not I would. ;)

If Mac users are "more intelligent than the average computer user," why do they need an operating system designed for complete idiots?

Not even for a 42" for £1300?

Be good to true methinks to.

On a more serious note, similar deals like this pop up from time to time namely Time Computers or whatever they are calling themselves this month.

On the face of it, it might seem a good deal, but one of the key points to look for on a Plasma screen is a contrast ratio of 4000:1 or greater. Time, Goodman & other cheaper badged brands usually have a ratio of a half or even a quarter of this value (2000:1 or 1000:1).

You would be far better off paying an extra couple of hundred quid for a branded name like "Panasonic" at Richer sounds for a unit that specifies that contrast ratio.

Your friendly neighbourhood Time Lord.

PS - Thats not from me speaking from experience, its from listening to older & wiser heads on this forum when queries of this nature pop up.

Rass, I don`t believe the Panna quote for 4000:1. saying that 1000:1/2000:1 is only on the cheaper models is incorrect. The Pioneer has a ratio of 1100:1 and as I have said on various threads I prefere it to the Panna. Other well known and well rated brands, Yamaha/Hitachi/Fujitsu use the Fujitsu ALiS panel and that has a ratio of 1000:1.

All the best,

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

I do believe it. Because of the DPL post I went around 2 shops today to look at them. You can read my findings here.... http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?Forum=223&Thread=361323&Page=2&Type=1

However The Panasonic again came out tops. That means a better picture.

I know we are never going to agree on this. But I do not and will not belive it has 4 times the contrast as the Fujitsu ALiS panel. Simple as that. There are different way of reading things. You could say my car does 100 but yours only does 62.13727. The fact that yours is in KPH and mine is in MPH has been over looked.

All the best,

I agree with you. But if you read my post in the DLP bargain, the Panasonic was the best picture again. I have to say there was a Sony that was good but priceyer. There was also an LG plasma that looked good... BUT....I would like to see it in all modes.
