Sounds like a ripple on your power supply, could be one of the smoothing capacitors? the only way find out for certain is to get it checked out by a engineer, try to get free estimate expect a £50-£70 quote.

How long have you had the problem?
Have you scarts, etc connected?

Try putting the model number of your tv into this search box to see if it`s a recognised fault and what the problem may be; usual caution about poking about in the back of a telly if you don`t know what you`re doing - high voltages/charges even when switched off

Try disconnecting everything (VCR, Sky box etc) except for the aerial and see if the problem goes away.

If the problem goes away then it`s the VCR or the Sky box etc or one of their cables. So reconnect them, one at a time, until you find which one has the problem.

If it doesn`t go away, disconnect the aerial too & try a different aerial (or just loop a length of wire)

If the problem goes away you need a new aerial cable (or maybe a new aerial)

If the problem still exists then it`s definately a problem with the TV, so try & find an engineer for a free (or cheap) quote
