E55 Setup

I've just bought a Panasonic E55 DVD Recorder on the recommendation of group members, but am struggling with the set up. I only want to link it with a Grundig 1500 Freeview STB and a Samsung TV - both of which have two scart connections. The Grundig and the Panasonic have aerial and RF inputs.

I have connected the AV1 Scart from the E55 to the TV and have connected the AV2 Scart from the E55 to the STB. I have then connected the aerial to the STB, with an RF lead connecting from the STB to the TV. Whilst this seem to work for viewing, my problem is that I cannot seem to set up the terrestrial stations on the E55 to enable to record from them. Any suggestions?

If I remember right, the Grundig 1500 only has a "loop thorough" RF, not an RF modulator.
you can check this though, by trying to tune into the TV with the scarts disconnected.

However, here`s where I think you need to go:
The Grundig is on Scart 2 on the Panny, so to record, you need the Panny on AV2.
You also need to check in it`s menu`s that the connection type is correct (ie: PAL and RGB etc)

Now, change channel on the Grundig, record via the Panny.

If you want to watch one Freeview channel and record another at the same time, you`ll need two freeview boxes.

<EXTRA> Hang on..re read and you say you can watch/record digital ok, but it`s the terrestrials thats the problem? If so, thats easy for us to sort:
Remove the RF to TV connection from the TV and place it in the Aerial in on the Panny, use another RF lead from the RF out on the Panny to the TV. Restart the panny tuning in cycle, job done :D (hopefully ;) )
