What`s the best way to record sound from a SKY box to a computer ?
I tried connecting Line out from back of Grundig SKY box to Line in on sound card on my computer, but found output very distorted
What`s the best way?
All my Audio/Video goes thru a Denon 3801 receiver, so was think of using the Digital output from the Denon, but would need I think a Toslink cable and digital soundcard - but don`t want buy this extra equipment unless I knew it would work, or an alternative method
thanks

The first way you tried is the best, it`s probably just your settings that need tweaking.
First off, are you sure the input to your soundcard was by the line in? It`s very easy to go in by the mic. input instead. It`s usually ok to use this instead, but sometimes this input is more sensitive, and can lead to a very distorted sound at what would otherwise be `normal` levels.
You probably already know this, but just in case you don`t... make sure you check and set your recording levels-to get at them double click the sound icon on your system tray, then choose Options>Proerties>recording..make sure the input you are using has a tick in box then set the slide contol to about 25% and test it again...If you are using the mic input, make sure there is no mic. boost or anything similar being used.
