I get Black+White picture when recording DVD to VHS ?....
using a ...wait for it... Scan SC-2000.
Arrived as v2.07 (with F/W CD v2.16 in the box)
Have just upgraded to f/w v2.33VF and still get b/w picture...aaahhh!!!!!!!
I`m pretty sure it`s not macrovision.
Wondering if its Toshiba VHS ?
Any help appreciated !

Nope, it aint macro, it`s an NTSC signal or Svideo signal trying to record on a PAL unit.
You`ll need a PAL converter (or if you have a switch, set it to PAL) or change the player from outputting Svideo to RGB or Composite in your setup menus.

My video settings for SCAN SC-2000 DVD are...
TV TYPE: PAL
SCART : RGB
I have connected the `To TV` DVD SCART to my Toshiba V-859B VHS rear SCART (L2). I have also tried many other ideas like using composite leads different SCART lead etc.
I definately think it is an issue with certain Toshiba VHS machines + the SCAN SC-2000.

VCR`s can only record a composite signal and not RGB, so this may be your problem.
Normally, RGB enabled also sends the composite signal through the scart, but it may not be in your case.
Try setting the player to composite and try again.

I have tried every SETUP combination possible to overcome this problem with no luck. I have just tried swapping my Toshiba VCR for an older Mitsubisha and it worked first time !!!
SCART to SCART (RGB,PAL settings)
It is definately an issue with the Toshiba !! (my model is V859B)
