RE: bulkpaq discs should they be used or not?
I use them just fine in my dual standard burner..never had any playback issues...I have had one or two burn badly at x4 speed though-the process completes, but go to play the disc back and it stutters and pixellates a lot..I now tend to only burn video onto bulkpaq`s at x2 speed, and haven`t had an issue with them at all

I remember reading awhile back that some 4x media shouldnt be used in a 1-2x dvd writer, a reason wasent given but its better safe than sorry so if you have heard the bulkpaq media shouldnt be used its a good idea not to use it.

In my experience I find the bulkpaq discs poor for any application. I bought a pack of 25 for general use and after using only 7 I threw the rest away. Read errors with Data\DVD and PS2 backups when burnt in a PC drive. Read errors when used in Philips DVD recorder.
You can`t beat a good quality disc and you get what you pay for.
Check out Philips own brand perfect for the DVD Recorder (argos are cheap for 25 spindle)
or Verbatim 4x spindle excellant discs

You`re probably thinking of the older Pioneer 2x DVD-R writers, which could actually be damaged if you tried to use 4x media in them. You had to upgrade the firmware before 4x media could be used safely.

I`ve been using the Bulkpaq`s for a while in my DVD burner. I`ve for some 4X ones with `bulkpaq` on, and some white printable ones.
Only had some playback problems in TV DVD player when I ran the printable ones at 4X. Near the end of the film a bit of stuttering/pixellation. Think I might go back to 2.4 speed to see if I get better results. So far not had any coasters, but I`d rather know the burn is 100% successful if it DOES complete.
Anyone else had similar experiences?
