I`d be interested to hear your progress too. I looked around a few sites and a few magazines before I bought my first DVD player and found that, for a budget, the YELO seemed to be the best bet, so I ordered one. I then found this forum, it seems to strike a chord with me and I like most of the people in here. Which is why, when I found an overwhelming dislike/apathy for the YELO and a overwhelming like/interest/support for the SCAN SC-2000 I cancelled my order for the YELO and went a for a scan. I wasn`t dissapointed as the SCAN is great and does everything I want it to and I haven`t found a single fault with it. But let us know how the newer YELO performs...maybe it`s been improved.
Nice one that your mate`s pleased with the Yelo. I also took the gamble and went for one and was really chuffed initially. However, I was watching Gladiator on it yesterday and noticed there were some weird, almost transparent lines moving across the screen from left to right, particularly when the picture had light colours. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this? Could it be my Scart lead? I`ve only got he bog standard cheap one that came with the unit - haven`t had a chance to get another one yet. Also, I`m using a Scart 3 way splitter as I`ve only got 1 scart on my TV and need to use it for the DVD and Sky. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Also, while I`m here, I can`t seem to get the player to pan and scan at all. I don`t have a widescren TV so would like to pan and scan widescreen presentations, but can`t seem to get it to work on the Yelo, even though I select p/s on the set-up menu. Cheers...
