VHS To DVD Recorder Hard Drive?
Cool Down Precious (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 9th June 2004, 12:19
With DVD Recorders that also have a hard drive, is it possible to record from VHS to the hard drive and then transfer that recording to DVD-R, thus being able to transfer VHS videos to DVD videos? Any help much appreciated.
Cheers,
CDP

Yes, you can also transfer direct from VHS to DVD without going via HDD. As long as the tape isn`t macrovision protected of course. Then you need a special lead.

Totally possible. The advantage of using a hard drive based recorder is the extra flexibility it gives you with editing all the ads out etc and compiling several programmes onto 1 DVD-R (related stuff, for example).
