Scan SC2000 - Cannot play Se7en R2 (2 disc SE) or Final Destination R2

Does anybody else have the same problem? I get the main menu fine, but as soon as I try and play the movie, the whole picture becomes scrambled, and the sound gets all choppy. These are the only two movies I`ve seen (or not in this case) with this problem. The movies both work on my Creative Encore Dxr3. Otherwise, I am very happy with my player.
I shall be arranging a swap-out, but I`m interested to know if there is some sort of special encoding used on these films.

Se7en plays fine on my player. Sounds like you need to update your firmware.

look here for the firmware and read the FAQ first.

i would wait for him to put 2.08 up and use that.

OK then. Spoke to Scan after AGES on hold. They said

change the units region to region 2 rather than ignore, if other r2 dvds are ok then the possibility is actually down to the disk itself.

This still did not work. I have even tried exchanging FD, but that did not work.

Who is on which firmware version and what issues do they cause? the last thing I want is the blue screen or pixelisation.
According to my machine, MAIN_NAV (firmware) is 00000150 - half the stuff in NiVZ guide did not appear on the screen and I couldn`t access half the menus! What`s going on? Do I have an archaic machine?

ok i would like to give you the good news but, what the TS at Scan have told you will not confirm if its the disc at fault. to do that you need to play the disc in another player. If it plays ok, it is the firmware on your player thats at fault, not the disc.
and the firmware 1.50 can not be flashed! it needs to go back to scan if its under it GTee.
