I am considering buying one of these two players. Anyone out there own one of these and can advise

If you`re buying from Second Spin FIRMLY recommend you buy the Afreey LD2060.

By all accounts the Phonotrends they bought from Encore Direct are less than perfect and causing Second Spin some considerable anguish as we speak.

The Afreey is a far better player, and there`s a good support network out there as the player is manufactured by Sampo - plenty of fan sites, my site http://www.area450.co.uk being one of them

Yep, the Afreey 2060 looks very good, just upgraded my firmware to 3.5f, worked perfectly. I`m just about to sit down and watch El Mariachi on it now with my girlfriend.

I`m not into all the "Hitachi Rocks" and "Aiwa (officially) Rules" crap (let them do their own bloody marketing I say) but its pretty good for the money you pay. In the worst case its an slightly expensive PC ATAPI DVDROM so what the hell, but I`m glad to say their pretty solid and don`t do anything wrong.

Afreey 2060 is also there under SAMPO 560.

Both players have great specs! Pity the Afreey has the dreaded Hitachi 505 Chipset (ESS).

i ordered one from www.second-spin.com,,,, 24 hrs del,,, tried different discs in it works a treat ,,,, ps its the afreey 2060
