Anyone upgraded to V2.23 and tried a SVCD?
I burned one with Nero 5.0.3.8 using small images I found on my HDD, but the player just ejects it. It`s the first SVCD I`ve burned, and I think I must be doing something wrong.
Is there a minimum image size for SVCD`s?
NiVZ.
I`ve tried a few settings, but still no luck.. I heard that SVCD was supposed to be fixed. Can anyone tell me what settings to use with Nero to create a SVCD slideshow?
Has anyone else managed to get a SVCD to play yet?

It`s still broken. Should be fixed in 2.19, but was not. I have mailed to tytelstar to fix SVCD .. hope they will do it.

Simply open up a SVCD template. Drag and drop JPG files into that window. Only jpg will work.
Properties allow you to set a time for which the pic is displayed, burn it, and off you go!
Did it using Nero 5.038 and played it in a grundig gdv 130 running firmware 1.92.

Niviz - I concur with Filip. Upgraded this evening but SVCD`s still don`t play. Disappointing !
The saga continues..........
I havent had much time to check the differences in quality etc with 2.23 but i watched the green mile last night and comprared it today after the upgrade and the background seemed as noisy as ever (possibly worse)I am going to check it out a bit better tonight.
Pity about the svcd situation -would have thought scan would have sorted this.
Xeno
up the irons!!!!!!!!!!!
ps VIVZ did you have to enter the "m"hack again?????????
When they send a firmware they dont tell me what changes they have done.I am on their case with the svcds and when the long filenames
firmware is ready i will push them to incorporate svcd playback into it.
Also i will get them to email me the latest firmware history as well.

When I installed 2.23, my DVD became VCR unfriendly, screen output changed from multi to PAL, audio output from RF mode to LINE and LT/RT to LO/RO (turning off surround).
- easily put right of course. I noticed that when I made the DVD player `friendly` again the contrast seemd to deepen on the screen output (it was NTSC mode at the time).
Is it true that some people watch their DVDs via RF from their VCR - surely they would not be in a position to comment on the picture if that was the case? Why not plug the VCR in the `external socket` of the SCAN and plug the SCAN directly into the telly?

Sounds that the Firmware 2.11 is the best bet if one wants to play those SVCD`s.
NiVZ, is there a way to download that version from your site?
