RGB Mode

MAckem1973 (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 24th January 2004, 20:10

Hi, I need more advice from all you experts.

I`ve just got all my stuff connected to my new 32" widescreen- 3 scarts (from VHS, Sky, DVD)

I`ve set my Sky Digital output to RGB- but although its a sharper picture, I keep getting sslightly jumpy images from time to time- sort of flashes of green etc. Is this something to put up with with RGB connections or have i got a problem?

Cheers!

The flashes of green should not appear over a picture. They are most likely as the set changes from NTSC to PAL as you put on another dvd,or the Scart plug is not fully and firmly pushed in at one end-or the plug could have loose connections. If its an old cheap one,try another Scart lead first to check, then get a new one
My main dvd player is a Pioneer, connected to a Panasonic tv.I get a green flash when the change in tv systems occurs, but I can`t remember whether its PAL-NTSC,vice versa or both.I don`t recall it happening on my previous Panasonic player

Well its not really a pronounced green flash, its sort of just a wobble in the picture, like a flicker now and again in RGB mode, but not the other mode- you can sometimes see like a green line down through the picture in these flickers- i`ve made sure the scart is fully in and its a brand new one too.
