Hardware Forum
Casually flicking thru a DVD mag I noticed a review for the Aiwa DV370. They didn`t rate it that highly which is fair enough but then in their list of negative points they included lack of RGB output and lack of Co-axial digital sound output. To make matters worse, the picture they showed of the player clearly showed the co-ax output that wasn`t there. Do they actually test the players at all or just make it all up.
Have to agree : mag reviews are only the view of one person and God help the player that gets reviewed by the hack who`s been out on the ale the nite before and duly reports :
"the picture wobbled about the room, I just couldn`t focus on it properly. It made me feel nauseous just looking at it. I had a headache so couldn`t possibly even think about bending down to have a look at the plugs round the back. I tried the player with `Gladiator` - the picture and sound was muffled...because I fell asleep. Ah stuff it. 10/10 Best Buy"
RE: Don`t trust DVD Magazines!
When I bought my player (Lecson), the DVD magazines were recommending the YELO !
I`ve not bought a DVD hardware magazine since. This forum is a better guide ... :)
i agree. bought an alba 103 on the judgement of a mag, then realised it was crap. it was then a real ball-ache trying to sell the damn thing...

Yeah - who do you believe?
What Hi-Fi give the lecson 5 red stars and say it is astonishing for the price, the DVD mag i bought back in August said it was crap.
I think the scan reviews say it all!
