PHILIPS LX700 , any good?

bracken (Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 28th December 2003, 20:31

:/ Comet have the Philips LX700 for sale at the moment at £299. It sounds pretty good to me but does it compare favourably with similarly priced kits? I`m looking to spend about £300 for a full system and I favour one with SACD playback, such as the LX700 or SONY`S DAVSC5. If I opt for the Philips, which I slightly favour (if only on looks) is there a permanent region hack? I am a bit impatient and would like to purchase something within the next 2-3 days, can anyone help, thanks.

Hi Bracken I have the lx700 which is just an amplifier, tuner and speaker set up. You will need to purchase a dvd player to go with it. I got mine from Currys for £179.99 just before xmas. It`s an excellent piece of kit and would recommend it. I have a Toshiba sd-330e running through mine.

Hi Bracken, I was just wondering if you got the LX700 in the end. If so what did you think of it? I am also looking at the same model as my first step into the real world :)
Cheers

I`m too old for this sh*t!
