p323789 (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 19th December 2003, 11:33

Can anyone advise me on buying a cheap dvd player for my girlfriend?

I have about 80 quid to spend,but she wants a player that will play everything,from +/- back-ups,mp3`s and vcd`s??

Thanks

The Toshiba SD330E is generally very well regarded, and looks like it should do everything you want it to. Amazon do it for £79.99 - here.

I think Richer Sounds stock it too.

Sorry, forgot to say i really need to get it before christmas!
What about the players you can buy from supermarkets?
are they any good or is it worth buying a `Branded` player?

Thanks

I personally would go for the unbranded players whose name & players are seen frequently on the forums ie Tevion`s,Pacifics, Sampo, Cyberhome etc, they have a user support base (here) & are MR by use of the remote.
