does anyone know what the akura diamante 3000 dvd player that somerfields and superdrug are selling is like, i am thinking of buying my parents one for christmas

Haven`t seen that one, but if it`s the same as the Mico Diamante 3000 which is/was last sold by Sainsbury`s at £59-99, it`s a well-built and -specified player - nice styling too IMHO. How much have you seen it selling for in the two stores you mention?

Note that last month Superdrug were selling the Akura 13S, which seemed to be a cut-down version of the Mico Diamante 3000; so the model you have seen recently may lack some features of the Mico original.
