Page 1 of Philips dvdr dolby digtal outputs

I have just purchased a DVDR 70 and I am dissapointed to find ony one dloby digital output. (coax)
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a Dolby Digtail coax swich box so I can feed the dolby digital output from my DVDR70 to my amp AND my TV ?

I don`t think you even need a switch box, to be honest - a simple 2-to-1 adapter (e.g. Maplin YW39N) ought to suffice.

But why would you need a digital connection to your tv and amp anyway?Surely if you are watching in 5.1 the amp will suffice,and if you watch through the tv speakers only then the 2 channel output can go there.I don`t think you will find (m)any recorders with 2 Digital outputs,and the ones there may be will usually be optical or coaxial to give you a choice and sound would only come from one at a time

So? The Dolby Digital output of your Philips deck is a simple coax (phono) socket, isn`t it? :D

My point is, these signals are quite robust - the fact that it`s Dolby Digital doesn`t change that. At the end of the day, you`re just piping a fairly low-frequency signal along a wire for a few dozen centimetres, it`s not rocket science.

I`ll bet you £10 that the Maplins splitter will do the job.
