Does LG 3350E player play DVD-R disks?

Hal2 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 4th October 2003, 09:02

Does anyone have the LG3350E DVD player and can they confirm if it plays blank DVD-R disks okay?

I was thinking of buying an DVD-RW internal PC Drive but didn`t want to if I couldn`t play the disks on my domestic player

dvdrhelp.com seem to think it is compatible

Any feedback appreciated. Thanks

nothing plays blank dvd-r`s, :D
on the other hand if you record something on to them they should play, my brother in law has an old lg player and it plays most dvd-r`s but struggles with cheap bulq-paq discs 8)

Ritek G03 dye burned in a 104 at 2x will play in LG units, however, the disc themselves are not the ONLY factor involved!

Burning software has a huge amount to do with it, and my current version of Nero (which I use for the final burn-to-disc step), isn`t the most up to date but it works.

Three versions back, it worked...two back, it didn`t, this one works 90% of the time so I`m sticking with it :D

Thanks Jimbo. Seems a tad hit and miss though. Wonder how the 3350 likes the DVD X Copy and Copy Xpress software.

BTW I was thinking of buying the Pioneer 106

No idea, but I can tell you the following:

No misses only hits using Ritek G03 (and good reports about G04, the 4 speed version)
Likes DVD2One <g>
Handles Nero authored easily

However, one serious thing to note...most players freeze and jerk with DVDR near the end of the movie...the solution seems to be reduce it to FOUR GIG, not 4472Mb.

Jimbo

Finally about to bite the bullet and buy the Pioneer 106, now that the price has gone down enough!
Have you had any personal experience of the Datasafe 4x Ritek G04 `A` grade disks in the LG3350E? They`re selling them on SVP and look a good buy (if compatible with the LG that is!)
