I`m using the same setup as you (Optorite DD0203 2.16 and Schneider 857) and have had no problems at all. Only difference is that I use DVD Shrink to author.

Have a look at clone.cd/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3552 for a great guide on backing up DVDs. Also clone.cd/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3405 for a list of DVD guides.

Hope this helps.

first off, check the version of Nero.
Second, I assume you are creating a "DVD VIDEO" and not a UDF/ISO DVD?

Next, make sure you arent using the wizard, that blows for me almost every time, do it without the wizard and select "New>DVD Video"
BTW, only recently found out...Ulead is crap too...removes AC3 audio and replaces with PCM

How old is your schneider 857 . I bought mine back in october 02 and it won`t play dvd-rs at all . My mate bought the same dvd player in march of this year and his plays dvd-rs fine . So it could be the dvd player that`s the problem unless you have played other dvd-rs from another source and they,ve worked . Hope this helps .
