I have just got some dvd`s to watch ie T3, American Pie The Weding and I`m tryin to watch them on a grundig GDV 330 player with no luck! I no this is a region 2 only player and i`ve tried the hack open reg 1 disc and 0123 then play but I still can`t view justs comes up with `no disc` these discs play on my pc can anyone help me with this problem? I don`t even no if they are actually reg 1 discs!!
Well, they are obviously pirates and so they almost certainly wont be region encoded. Most likely is they are on DVD-R discs and your player wont read DVD-R., hence the No Disc error.
does your player play vcd`s? find easyvcd (from www.dvdrhelp.com) and rip them to mpegs and burn them to vcd with nero. depending on how fast your machine is, this might take around 2 hours or more a disc.
Another sucker stung by piracy :D
Sorry if that seems harsh, but you really should know a pirate DVD when you see one and thus I have no sympathy when you are buying illegal products and you have a problem.
Again, nothing personal.

Well I no your entitled to your opinion so I wont take your attitude personally but just so you know I borrowed the discs from a friend so I did not get stung at all !! :D
But if its a jellousy thing i`m sure you can borrow them from me :D .

Yeah, that must be it. I`m jealous of your pirated DVDs that don`t work properly of films I`ve already seen in a cinema with a huge, clear picture and brilliant surround sound.
I have a UGC Unlimited Pass, so pirate DVD`s hold no interest to me as they are relatively expensive when compared to the £9.99 I pay every month to see as many films as I want in the cinema. Hell, I`ve seen T3 twice.

Seen T3 Twice good for you and as I said I did`nt buy the films so it cost me nothing to see these films not even your £9.99 I just play them on my dvd player on my PC!
So theres no need for your childish little comments! ;)
Sorry Darren, but I`m with chewie on this.
Irrespective of whether the discs cost you anything or not, they are clearly pirates (you only have to check renowned retail sites like Play or CD Wow to see that the release dates on DVD for the titles you mention are months ahead) so it`s no wonder they fail to work.
The choice you have is being restricted to watching iffy copies on a PC, whereas chewie can continue to support the film industry rather than fill the pockets of dodgy, probably drug-related, conmen.
I know which one I`d opt for, as would most people here. Piracy is frowned upon by most of your peers here, so no need to gloat ;)

Its interesting how easy it is to fool some people though. A friend of my sisters brought a pirate copy of 2 Fast 2 Furious, was convinced it was genuine despite the lack of DVD Menus, poor quality(only pan scan and video fuzzies) and only 2 channel sound. It had the cheek to say on the back of the box, copying is prohibited.
But the box looked fairly authentic, along with the CD. Now I don`t condone copying in any way, but prices for DVDs have come down a lot in the last 2 years or so, and this piracy might have helped that. Now if only it would encourage 20th Century Fox to lower some of their prices(Buffy, Angel, X-Files even the Simpsons Box sets are all overpriced).
