question on sony htk 215

I am really interested in getting this but I`ve got one question.
Is it good for listening to audio CDs?
You see I`m thinking of selling my hi-fi and just using my DVD player for CDs. This is mainly because I want more space and the HTK 215 is very compact and does everything I need.

Cheers

Go for an HTK-315. Unbeatable are selling one for £296.00 + £6.99 Delivery. It`s got DTS as well as DD, RDS receiver and various inputs. More powerful but not as compact.

although not listed on any of the sites the 215 has DTS and DD decoding.

Its perfect if size matters the amp can be set on its end (stand included) and the sound quality is excellent. I brought it because of looks (hell it lives in the living room - videologic is pig ugly) and for DTS and DD movies the sound is very good.

For audio I can`t say I have a cheap DVD player and audio cd`s are all right but as my dvd player cost £160 and the amp and speakers was only £300 I cannot compare it to my hifi which cost 5 times that.

Personally dvd cannot replace a dedicated cd player at the moment - although it will be as good as a midi system or similar.

Basically very happy with the unit.
