No problems here, either with purchased VCDs or home made ones. I have tried CD-R, CD-RW and even HS CD-RW and they all play fine on the Aiwa.

I use Nero 5 and/or Easy CD Creator to create them. One thing you have to be careful about is to ensure that you are creating a 100% Video CD compliant mpeg stream. For PAL that means :

25 fps
Mux rate 176400
352 width
288 height
1150 Kbits/sec video bitrate
224 Kbits/sec audio bitrate

Use either Tmpegenc or Ifilm Edit 1.4.5 to do this.

I have created quite a few now, even ones with a menu and start sequence.

Unfortunately SVCD, XVCD and miniDVD will not play correctly on the Aiwa. The most common problem when playing back non-standard VideoCDs is stuttering sound and vision. I wonder if a firmware update will fix this??? (I live in hope).

Cheers
Jez

Which method did you use? How do I check the Demux rate? e-mail me if you can.
