Page 1 of SACD question

Question, I bought the SACD version of DSOTM on Saturday popped it into DVD/SACD player (connected to Maranz SR5300 amp via optical lead) and no sound from my speakers. I understand I have to connect my outputs from DVD/SACD to my amp but as they are not close don`t want loads (more) cables between TV area and amp. Are there any integrated cables out there that will do the trick (i.e. one lead as opposed to 6) and if so reccomendations would be appreciated

You should still get sound just not SACD sound.

Ixos do a 6RCA- 6RAC. Your local Hi-Fi shop should be able to help you out.

The 42%er is quite correct that you should get sound through the digital connection, it just won`t be SACD. Have you ensured that the input is switched to the correct (optical/co-axial) format. On my amp (Sherwood), the digital inputs can be set to match the incoming cable. Mind you, would be worth the 6-way inputs to get SACD, but a bit of a bummer if your amp and SACD player are 10 miles apart! Btw, try 7dayshop for cheaper but good quality cables, especially long ones. Roger.

Thanks for the reply, Roger my initial thought was the input setting was incorrect but that is fine, everything else (DVD and CD`s) all play fine accept the DSOTM SACD through the amp. Bizarre I can get it if I turn TV up but keep getting no source through amp.

Neither of those sites seem to sell an integrated 6 RCA`s in one cable any other suggestions???
