RE: RGB colour settings on FQ75

Yeah I have played around with the personal settings and set them to my preference. However the question still stands in the fact I thought I shouldn`t be able to do this.

RGB colour settings on FQ75

Morning

I have had the Sony FQ75 for about 2 years and although pleased with it, I have never been blown away by the picture quality when watching DVD`s.

Anyway I brought my DVD player round to girlfriends house last night and quality on her Sony (28 inch not sure what model) and quality was far superior. The main thing I noticed was that you cannot change the colour mode on RGB on hers where on my TV you can adjust the colour.

I do recall reading that you shouldn`t be able to adjust the colour settings when viewing via RGB, is this a problem with my TV or does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere which switches RGB on or off. It doesn`t say so in the manual and I have plugged the scart into AV1 (which is RGB).

I bought it via unbeatable.co.uk and think they imported from Germany as the instructions were in German with a photocopy of English ones.

Any comments?????

RE: SACD question

Hi Chaps

Thanks for the reply, Roger my initial thought was the input setting was incorrect but that is fine, everything else (DVD and CD`s) all play fine accept the DSOTM SACD through the amp. Bizarre I can get it if I turn TV up but keep getting no source through amp.

Neither of those sites seem to sell an integrated 6 RCA`s in one cable any other suggestions???

RE: Anyone noticed weird goings on with widescreen on Telewest for bbc

Glad it`s not just me!

Weird how its only BBC though!!!!!!

Anyone noticed weird goings on with widescreen on Telewest for bbc

Telewest Cable is having issues with Sports broadcasts on BBC (African Football & Winter Olympics) which are broadcast in widescreen.

There screen converts to letterbox with two pretty plack & blue vertical lines on the left & right. Has anyone else noticed this

Anyone having any problems with SONY 32FQ75

Chaps

I bought a Sony 32FQ75 about 6 months ago & up until now have been reasonably happy with performance etc.

However last night I connected a Sony PS2 in via the component video connections on the front. When playing either DVD’s or Games whenever the screen was black I noticed a vertical ghost line which moved from left to right of the screen continuously which was annoying to say the least.

Has anyone else had or heard of this issue & more importantly have any resolutions/suggestions which would be appreciated.

RE: help I am soooo confused

Thanks Pete

That really does help, SCART 2 & 3 handles S*Video, I will try & get some demo`s to compare the differences.

I have my cable box set to RGB which I informed the retailer but his
response was that the menu options will appear clearer but there are no difference to the visual picture.

Cheers

Adrian

help I am soooo confused

I have a Sony FQ75 TV(3 Scarts with 1 RGB) & am looking to buy a Sony DAVs800 integrated
amp & DVD

Problem is I keep getting conflicting information with regards to connectivity.
My understanding is that the S800 has only a S-Video output & I thought therefore no RGB playback.

However I visited a retailer yesterday who mentioned a couple of things which I am unsure:

1. There are RGB connections (not Scart) on the DAV S800 & you could buy a RGB to Scart lead
that would give RGB playback????

2. After mentioning I would possibly like to continue using my RGB scart for viewing via
Cable, I was told that satellite/Cable do not broadcast in RGB???? (I thought RGB was an
inbuilt colour setting within the tv)

3. Generally, I would appreciate peoples views on the quality difference between RGB
S-Video, am I getting to wrapped up in the loss of RGB on the DAV S800

Anyone`s help with this would be gratefuly accepted!

RE: Message for Westy (or anyone who can help for that matter!!!)

Guys

Without sounding too patronising much respect has to be given to you & all who put this site together. I have just followed this link which has given me more information & unequalled advice than three magazines & about 5 different high street retailers over the past fortnight.

I too have been investigating the possibilities of buying the DAV S800 & integrating it with my 32FQ75 TV. My concern has been the omission of Scart connection which has delayed my decision. As you have mentioned Westy you can use an adaptor to convert S-Video to Scart but I have heard that this will lose RGB quality, is this true & if so how dramatic an impact would this have on picture quality?

Mike are you happy with your purchase & I would be interested in your comments on the quality of playing regular audio cd`s as I have heard this may be weak?

Thanks
