An Aiwa for £169.99, but which model?

IT Troll (Competent) posted this on Friday, 12th January 2001, 17:13

Found a website selling an Aiwa for £169.99 inc, but I`m not sure what model it is. It looks like a 370 but it seems to have extra karaoke style controls on the fascia. The description also mentions DD 5.1!

I`ve never ordered anything from this site and so can`t vouch for them.

Could this be the 370`s successor, or am I talking all old bollocks?

I don`t think it`s the sucessor Troll, but a different model.

It definitely has the same casing as the 370, and the same looks.
couldn`t find the references to Karaoke, but can see the 3 controls and 2 mic inputs on the players picture.

(thats another thing I was gonna speak to you about re: the 3350, the board has the spaces for the components for Karaoke, but I couldn`t see the point, so I didn`t mention it)

Makes me even more sure now that the 370 decoder is in there and jut not linked up. I`m gonna wire it and see how it goes!

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!

Check out this link especially if you can speak Spanish!

http://www.aiwa.com.pa/index1.htm

It is an Aiwa 370 for £169.99 but one that is made for the South American market - the North American version does have the 5.1 outputs so maybe this one will too

I`ve ordered one so i will let you know!

Yep, I can`t speak Spanish, but thats definitely the same player.

If you look at the specs listed though, you can make out "Dolby digital /DTS connectors" not 5.1 though.
(recent Orbitron players had this on the box..5.1 outputs, but didnt have a decoder, just a digital connection)
and there`s nothing on that spec that looks remotely like the word Karaoke!!
Could it be a picture of what the 370 PROTOTYPE was?
Maybe not, but it`ll be interesting to hear when the first player arrives with whoever ordered it!

And yeah, I`d LOVE pics of the Karaoke compnents!!
(not that Karaoke means anything to me, just so I can have the most fully loaded 370 in the UK! lol)

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!!
