If it sounds too good to be true, it IS too good to be true.

Well, ya gotta get a dish (60 cm) so thats anyone in a "high flat" situation ruled out immediately;

you gotta subscribe at £14.99 per month, although there`s no details of how long for;

And if ya wanna surf with it, calculate this:

>>"
Costs for Freebox HSI

Price including VAT
Payments can be made by a Variable direct debit.

Hardware - £249.00 *
Monthly fee - £14.99 **

* - These costs include the supply of all hardware and software and installation of your digital satellite dish and cabling.

** -This is the basic subscription fee for 128Kbits/s service & includes automatic email and favourite web site delivery to your PC. (Over and above 128Kbits/s service included in monthly subscription fee)"

Doesn`t seem quite so "free" anymore now, does it?

But if you get it for just the DVD player, and just use its internal 56k modem (if you want). But as a dvd player could it be any good?

From what i gather you dont have to subscribe.

I think the subscription and satellite stuff is just if you want broadband.

The regular stuff comes in via aerial and phone.

So it can be a free as you want it to be, but the bottom question is, Is the dvd player any good?
