Philips widescreen 32" 6506......can anyone assist please

hi
I have had a Philips 32"6506 TV for about two months.
It has an intermittent fault (the worst kind)-sometimes when the scene of a programme changes there is a slight flicker, this happens mostly when the scene changes from a darker one to a lighter one.I have had an engineer and er` indoors said he did something with the remote so i presume he went into the set up menu, but it is still giving me headaches.
I have had a few arguments in powerhouse about replacing it and there refusal to do so but thats another story
anyone got any ideas PLEASE.....

Tell me about it!! I`ve got a Philips 32PW6515 that seems to do the exact same thing! It flickers when the picture suddenly goes from dark to light (try waching "Aliens" - it happens a LOT!). I`ve had people in to look at it, but they couldn`t help. We are not the only ones though - I think there must be a design fault with most (all?) Philips widescreen tvs - check out the other posts on this forum!

(sorry I couldn`t help!)

I recently bought a 6506 and noticed exactly the same thing.

It seems to help if you reduce the originally high contrast and brightness settings and turn off the auto contrast feature in the setup menu.

I dont seem to notice it as much now (or maybe i`ve just got used to it!)

Ive posted in the list of Philips problems. Its some thing to do with the power supply having to supply a big load as the screen flashes white.
Ours is cured of it now after a visit to the repairers who also did a pretty decent job of sorting some geometry problems.
There are known issues with these teles-which can be fixed-, like the power down and switch to scart input problems that i was told about by the engineer who came to fix ours.
