LG3350e vs Wharfedale 750S
Can anyone give me their opinion on the LG3350E DVD player. I have just bought (yesterday) a Wharfedale 750S. For info I have a Sony TV with Dolby Prologic surround sound. Should I have gone for the LG as its got the built in Digital decoder bearing in mind my TV is only Dolby Prologic ?
Thanks !
Also can anyone tell me what the bookmarking features are like on the LG3350e. Specifically I`m interested in knowing if you can watch a movie say half-way through, turn the player off (for any given time) and turn it back on to continue watching where you left off.

what do you mean? continue after switching off? what fully off or just stopping the cd?
Anyway, whatever I would recommend the LG3350E. I have an AIWA 370 which has the same insides as the LG, but doesn`t have the onboard 5.1 sound and a few other things. Its superb.
Yes, my first player was a wharfedale 750s and i cannot recommend it, I had problems with chicken run and the sound was crackly and its very noisy and has a poor build quality. My friend has just returned his last night due to skipping problems.
The AIWA has a far better picture and sound and is very quiet.
The AIWA 370 is very scarce at the moment, so I would def. go for the LG, dabs.com are doing it for £189.00.

RE: LG3350e vs Wharfedale 750S
I have had a LG for the past 2 months and am very happy with it. The bookmarking feature does mean you can switch it off during the film and when you switch it back on it gives you the option of starting from the last position.
The only thing about it is it can take about 30 seconds for this to start. It can store upto fifteen discs meaning you can watch one film and stop it and then watch another go back to the original film and it will still remember the point where u stopped watching. Cool eh!!

I ordered one from Dabs on 1/1/1 and I got confirmation that it was sent out yesterday so I should receive it today with any luck.

The feature described above is better described as Auto Resume, and comes in very useful when watching DVDs that contain serialised features (e,g, Buffy).
The Bookmarking feature is for marking your favourite scenes. This impressive function enables you to set bookmark points throughout a film for instant access to your favourite scenes. When recalling your bookmarks you are presented with a menu of miniature stills from which you can select the desired scene.
I too had a Wharfedale very briefly and to be blunt they are crap, sorry. Tesco will let you return the player though an I recommend you do so.
I take it you got yours ok? Almost two weeks later though, thats quite a long time.
Anyone else waiting for an LG3350 from dabs? I wonder why the sudden shortage of AWIA`s and LG3350`s?

I`m waiting - ordered on the 6th - then 3-4 days away, two days later 1-2 days away, great, then went back to 3-4 days, oh, but now stuck at 1-2 days away... but I`m sure it`ll get here eventually - just hope the wait is worth it! My first DVD player - it`s like waiting for a baby to arrive! Though not as messy I hope...

Just to let you guys know that I finally got my LG today from dabs (ordered 1/1) after ParcelFarce allegedly tried to deliver it last Thursday but didn`t bother to post a card through the door. Now lets try that hack......
