A few months ago i purchased an Alba 114 from Tesco, when i tryed to play VDCs in it i had no joy at all, ive tryed many different ones.
Any Ideas?????????

I bought one from Makro last week and it plays vcds ok.Are you trying cover disks or "pirate film copies".Sometimes with pirate copies it depends on the brand of cd used, vcdhelp.com is a good web site for info

Are you sure they`re actually *true* VCDs (Video CD format), and not DivX or similar? Do these discs play on other standalone DVD players?

the VCDs that i use work on my Alba 108 with the 2812 hack, and they are proper VCD format.
when i put the VCD in it just comes up with incorrect disk format.
